Snapixel announces the closure

With a short mail and after a long silence – last tweet over a year ago – today Snapixel announces  that they will be shutting down the service on August 31st, 2012. Snapixel was a good experiment of merging a photo community a la Flickr with a stock marketplace. I’m curious about my 42 credits…

We will be shutting down the Snapixel service on August 31st, 2012. Please be sure to back up your photos as we will be no longer offer the portfolio or marketplace services after August 31st, 2012.
